Martin & Marwiah // Canning Vale

Martin allows the clover to grow wild because he enjoys seeing the yellow flowers. He tends to beautiful roses and what may have been the largest lavender bush encountered during the project. Martin led a tour along the winding garden path that threaded around their home. The conversation turned to the histories of the land on which gardens are made, and the way plants often travel from one garden to another through shared cuttings. Gardens are never neutral; they carry the memory of other places, other lives, and past decisions about what belongs.
